Position requires mechanical aptitude and some experience in maintenance or repair on automotive, industrial, aviation, heavy duty, or material handling equipment. In-house or road service technician positions an option depending on company staffing needs. Must provide own hand tools

Must have clean driving record. Independent work skills and customer service skills extremely important. Time management skills key.

Job Description: Parts Inventory Associate

Department: Parts
Reports To: QF Parts Manager
Wage: Hourly – based on experience.. 
Assists in the day-to-day functions of parts department. Distributing parts for repair job for customers and service department.
 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promotes an atmosphere of goodwill and accountability between the company and the customer. Acts in a professional manner and provides a superior level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Help shop technicians obtain parts needed to complete in-house shop repairs.
  • Effectively communicates with customer and technicians’ status of parts. Provides updates on lead times.
  • Receives incoming shipments. Unpacks and disperses parts as needed.
  • Preps and ships outgoing orders as needed.
  • Aids in inventory management.
  • Effectively communicates with customer and technicians’ status of parts. Provides updates on lead times.
  • Works with parts manufacturers and aftermarket vendors to efficiently source parts.
  • Works with vendors to process vendor returns on discrepancies and overages, including stock rotation on returns.
  • Cooperatively performs additional duties when assigned by parts management.
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inventory cycle counting.
  • May run parts as needed to other company locations or to technicians.
  • Works collectively with company service writers and technicians to provide solution-oriented repair results for customers.

Skills Required

  • Effectively communicates with customers, co-workers, and management in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Computer skills, familiarity with operating systems and general Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of material handling industry or other equipment / automotive industries.
  • General mechanical knowledge is a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently and on a team.

  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with potential exposure to a maintenance environment. The demands of the position often exceed normal working conditions.
